Calculus  study of limits, derivatives (change), integrals (sums)  (i.e. if we can describe the position of an object with an equation, its derivative would be the objects velocity (speed in a specific direction), and the derivative of its velocity is its acceleration.  
Differential Equations helps analyze  relationship between continuously changing values. as an object falls it accelerates due to gravity, but air resistance will reduce its acceleration . . . the air resistance will change as the velocity changes
